# Tracklet: UK Opportunities

A responsive UK opportunity guide and private tracker for apprenticeship vacancies and graduate schemes.

## Open the site

The live site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages at [tracklet-uk-guide.pages.dev](https://tracklet-uk-guide.pages.dev/). Open `index.html` for the guide and links to official vacancy sources, or choose **My tracker** to manage your shortlist. Guest roles are saved in that browser only. Email accounts use the connected Supabase project and require the site to be served from localhost or HTTPS.

## Enable email accounts

1. Create a Supabase project.
2. In the Supabase SQL editor, run `supabase-schema.sql` to create the opportunities table and per-user row-level security policies.
3. Copy the project URL and public anon/publishable key into `supabase-config.js`. These browser keys are public by design; never put a service-role key in this file.
4. In Supabase Authentication settings, enable email/password sign-in, set the site URL to your Cloudflare Pages address, and add the deployed site to the redirect allow list. The connected Tracklet project is configured for `https://tracklet-uk-guide.pages.dev`.
5. Serve the folder locally (for example, `python -m http.server 8000`) and open `http://localhost:8000/index.html`, or deploy it to an HTTPS static host.

Guest roles on the current browser are offered for migration into the account after sign-in. RLS policies ensure users can only read and change their own opportunities. Passwords are handled by Supabase Auth and are not stored by Tracklet.

The sign-in form's **Remember me on this device** option is enabled by default and keeps the Supabase session in browser storage after closing and reopening the browser. Turn it off to keep the session only for the current browser session.

## Deploy to Cloudflare Pages

The site is framework-free and can be deployed as a static site using Cloudflare Pages Direct Upload. In Cloudflare, open **Workers & Pages**, create a Pages project with **Direct Upload**, and upload a ZIP of the site's root files or the folder containing them. Keep the HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, and logo files together at the project root so their existing relative links continue to work. The current project is `tracklet-uk-guide`; its production address is `https://tracklet-uk-guide.pages.dev`.

## Enable public reviews

The connected Tracklet Supabase project already has the schema from `reviews-schema.sql` applied. For a different Supabase project, run that file in its SQL editor to create the public reviews table and private email table. The Reviews page displays ratings, reviewer names, and comments to all visitors; reviewer email addresses are collected for private use and are not exposed with public reviews.

The UK has no single complete live vacancy feed covering every employer and programme. Browse the linked sources for current openings, then add roles to Tracklet. Recruitment rules vary by employer and UK nation; confirm details and deadlines with each employer. Photos and web fonts load from Unsplash and Google Fonts; the Supabase client loads from jsDelivr.
